Opeth - Orchid

i'm starting to think this way about all opeth really. i used to appreciate 290485 different sections in songs but i'm becoming more and more picky about the natural flow of songs as i get older. opeth's first 2 albums are cut and paste.
;)

It completely kicks the ass of everything Opeth has written since "Still Life".

It kicks the ass of two thirds of "Still Life" as well. Some people seem to think the songwriting on "Orchid" is immature (by Opeth standards mind you). I mean, bullshit, wouldn't you say? The atmosphere on this release is like 1000000000x more focused and natural than on "Ghost Reveries".

Yes, and that includes Mr. Akerfeldt himself. If by atmosphere you mean absolutely shitty production, I agree with you.

There we are on the same wavelength finally.

Akerfeldt can shit on "Orchid" if he pleases, I'm not buying it. Opeth may have grown tighter and more arrangement-aware over time, so what? I'm prolly too dumb to acknowledge the improvement so I find their three latest "metal" installments boring as fuck. Fiesta!

still life has the best production because of all the fuckups. i much prefer raw production as opposed to dirty (like Orchid), if that makes any sense.

I'm not in agreement over production preferences, for me one where you can hear every instrument clearly and has good balance and separation without sounding sterile is ideal, but the most professionally produced Opeth album (BWP) is one of the least interesting musically...

Blackwater Park is my favorite Opeth record, and one of my all-time favorite.

Have you ever been in public and your dick wiggles its way out of your boxers? It all scrapes up against your pants and gives you the chills. However you cant just reach in your pants and adjust. Man, I hate that shit.

yes, OFTEN

so I bought boxers with a button on the fly

boxers with one button are the best. but that one button costs ALOT. i can only afford the cheap ones.
orchid>still life>morningrise>blackwater park>my arms, your hearse>deliverance>damnation>ghost reveries

but bleak beats all.
thats the end of the subject.

SERENITY NOW!!!

they say boxerbriefs are the gay chones of the world, but i say sign me up for the gaylympics because at least i don't have to fiddle with my junk every 14 seconds (unless i want to).

bleak = great shit

In Mist she Was Standing is the only Opeth song that makes me shit in my pants. Orchid is their best with My Arms and Damnation (me likes)

Orchid has a dirty production WTF?

Go check Xasthur or something :tickled:

(no it does not make sense  )

Oh and while we're at it .. Opeth has lately become (since BWP in fact) a band praised by musicians (for musicians?) . Therefore , it's no mystery I have not bought Ghost Reveries and won't probably buy another Opeth album ever. [/A silver Mt. Zion : Mucisians are cowards]
