Opeth Short Films

Hey everyone im in year 12 ie final year of high school and i made an expressionist film to "Dirge For November" loosely based on depression/suicide. I have to say the music helped to highlight everything about the film and it fit perfectly with the changes in the images. I'm wondering if anyone thinks an Opeth Short film would be amazing, even like a full length epic film, say to Morningrise, which i think would suit perfectly for a film, the atmosphere is so thick.

I also thought it would be a cool idea if later down the track, say Opeth did an album, but it was a DVD album, sort of like a sound track, with images to support the music, just an idea....

well... i think the best album which fits in a soundtrack is MAYH, the king of all concepts...

what would be good to do is to make a 53 mins film with the entire album plays...

yeah, that would be veeeery good.

thats a cool idea. I've thought of this in the past. I have worked with animation before, and I have wanted to do animated videos of Opeth(with a dark atomosphere) and other Metal videos that follow a concept.

I wanted to do this for a while now, butI don't think I'll ever get around to making these anytime soon.

I'm very interested to see what you come up with.

I wouldn't like to have the whole album running, but it would be pretty cool if done correctly by some genius director.

And I want to see the film too. It's cool that you did that.

nah that tool guy would do no justice to Opeths music. Afterall, opeths music isnt about aliens and lachromology (sp?)

Hmm, I would also like to view it. I think that Blackwater Park would be an easy one to do a movie to. Morniningrise and MAYH would be easy too. But I think that BWP is the most fluent and easiest to relate to people.

theres a semi official video to harvest thats simple but really good. Screw music videos that are all random and annoying I'd rather just see the band playing the song

yeh ill try to get it up, its not a full on professional production its at school, but it looks pretty damn professional, it sorta followers how the naive perception of reality in youth changes in later years, depression hits in and it gives a whole new, bleak perception of the world around, you start to notice the shit around you, it then often leads to the perception become reality and often lead to suicide, i directed and edited it

we have to make a full length for our end of year thing, so i would be interested to what you think should be in MAYH, like song by song description, brief, but id like to hear your ideas.

and im going to do media at uini so ill make sure theres some indie films made around opeth because the music is so vivid and layered, let us all praise OPETH
