Hell, 6 songs is TWO more than I got at Gigantour. I'm jealous (though opeth put on a really amazing show especially considering the lack of time they were given.)
If Mike would shut the fuck up once in awhile during live shows they could play a lot more in 60 minutes.

I doubt he spends more than 5 minutes talking in the whole show between the songs. Got any of their songs you would like to fit into that? Even if he spends 7 or 10, you would barely get an additional song. Not a lot more. Besides the sets are settled before they play, so Mike's talking between the songs has nothing to do with anything.
One song is still better than nothing. Pretty sure the Wacken Bloodbath setlist was settled before they played and they did end up cutting a song because of his excessive talking. And yes I do realize Bloodbath songs are significantly shorter than Opeth songs, but that doesn't change the fact that he wastes a lot of time talking on stage. Get off his balls and you too would realize this.
Every song off Damnation is under 7 minutes save Windowpane. I'd much rather hear something off this album than a stale joke or two between songs.

Solution - Don't pay for a Opeth gig that isn't headlined by them.
I personally enjoy his banter and find the price and song ratio for this tour quite acceptable.

Yeah, I know how you feel. When I went to Slayer in 2006 I had so sit through shitty bands like Mastodon and COB.
But it was worth it.
So I'm thinking that even though we have to sit and watch BTBAM and 3 before Opeth comes on, just seeing Mikael and the boys will be worth the price of admission.

It's 30 minutes of 3, 30 minutes of BTBAM, 60 minutes of Opeth, and then 90 minutes of Dream Theater.

I'm starting to think we'll see their new album around the same time

But why would a band open a show with a brand-new song? They would
probably need some time to introduce it and what-not. Seeing as we won't
