because atonement is an effective interlude whereas TGC is a failure as a metal song.

How exactly does it fail as a "metal songs?" As always your comments defy explanation.

I choose Beneath the Mire, and that pained me a lot.

I think TGC is awesome, but you're all right - it's way too long, and could be improved through tightening...
Lopez's drumming on TGC is just epic

I don't like Atonement or Grand Conjuration, but in the end I voted for the former, as it loses my interest more quickly.

This poll will be the best from all of them. I think the best song from it is pretty vague. Going for Isolation Years, because I think Atonnement is a nice song. My voting order :

There's nothing wrong with Atonement, it just isn't a standalone track. It certainly fits the album for the sake of atmosphere but otherwise, not.

i've explained my views on this forum repeatedly for a few years now. i'm just tired of posting the same shit over and over. and btw, my comments can't "defy explanation" (that makes no sense).

if you have read my other posts as most people on this forum have, over a lengthy time period, you'd know my and most other people's reasoning for disliking the grand conjuration.
