Drapery Falls - always played live

Deliverance - almost everytime

In my Time of need - come on theres better off of damnation, and of course

DEMON OF THE FALL - all these songs are rockiN! but come on, I think "The Twilight is my Robe," or "The Apostle in Triumph" would be an Opeth concert much more epic, why don't the play any of the songs off their first two albums anymore?!?!?! and if you wanted to make an Opeth concert really epic cut out all of the above songs and break out the "Black Rose Immortal" your thoughts?

and I hope "The Grand Conjuration" doesn't become a staple...

i agree w/ the need to involve more songs. dream theater changes their setlist almost every night.

however, i for one do NOT want to hear ANYTHING from orchid or morningrise...

Advent would be cool or In Mist She Was Standing .. Forest Of October.. otherwise i'd prefer any of the songs mentioned. But yeh, would be nice if they at least slightly changed the set up for the gigs.. but then again.. with the bloodbath guy playing for the moment.. isnt fair on him forcing him to learn a load of different songs

Hopefully, they will alter their setlist during the second leg of European tour....
To be honest, I would replace Drapery and TGC (really boring) with some other stuff...as well as Damnation's songs, I don't get it, cause there was a special mellow tour in 2003 (admittedly great gig in Vienna....) so they can skip this tracks now IMO...Speaking of current setlist, it lacks more Still Life's songs I guess, I'd add Moonlapse Vertigo or Serenity Painted Death..With regard to Ghost Reveries, hope so Mike will keep his word and incorporate Beneath the Mire in the setlist. Also Ghost of Perdition really deserves to be taken into account.

I move that they should forget about everything they've done on Orchid, Morningrise, and Damnation. Then for their set they play the entirety of MAYH (to save time they don't have to play Karma). Then they should add to their set the other essentials from their other albums (in no order): Ghost of Perdition, Reverie/Harlequin Forest*, The Leper Affinity*, Bleak*, Blackwater Park, Moonlapse Vertigo. The ones with *'s mean they don't have to play these if they are constrained by time.

That would be cool if they had a few tricks up their sleeves and pulled out Black Rose Immortal. I'd be happy with Nectar or Advent though. Anything from Morningrise really. Stuff from Orchid would be fucking awesome too.

I don't think they should do anything from D2 on the US tour, since they already played the entire album, and they did Windowpane and In My Time of Need on the following tour. If anything, it'll be To Rid the Disease. I'm almost certain they'll play one of the soft songs on the new one, probably Atonement. It's a good song to showcase Per as well. I bet they play it.

I think Drapery, Deliverance, and Demon all stay in the set.

I would like to hear more Morningrise, and In Mist She Was Standing but its unlkely. Mikael has said how he finds it hard to listen to songs off Morningrise. I think Still Life is not represented enough, I'd love to hear Godhead's Lament, Serenity, The Moor, in fact any song.

Ballads are good but i think Credence or Benighted may be better than the Damnation ones, but they are all good. The Drapery Falls is a great song but so is Bleak, and the same goes for Deliverance and Masters' Apprentices.

From GR, I think Ghost of Perdition must be played I think TGC may be beingh played as it is the Single, but I'd love to hear Reverie/Harlequin Forest, instead of Baying of the Hounds perhaps.

I think DOF should stay, it is a great song and a bit shorter.

They definately need to play the moor, they dont play that song enough. April ethereal would be cool, so would karma and who knows? maybe mike will say "Screw it, lets play Black Rose Immortal this one time to make em stop complaining" That would be quite cool.

i wonder if you could coordinate everyone to scream out black rose immortal throughout the whole show. maybe they would play it then? that would be amazing, although I think I read in another thread that Mikael said he's forgotten all the notes :erk:

How can anyone not like ORCHID! I don't understand, I think it is their best album along with MAYH.....yeah more Still Life is what I'd love to hear, White Cluster and Moonlapse Vertigo mostly....

.....however they did play the Moor and April Ethereal from MAYH on the Lamentations ACross America tour so I'm not dying to hear them....but yeah Apostle or The Twilgiht... would be great

and no I think DOF should go....I've heard it live way too many times....like I originally posted, something from Orchid or Morningrise would make an Opeth show much more epic

As far as stuff off the first two albums go I would definitely love to hear "Forest of October" and "Advent." I just think that would be amazing.

If they are going to do any stuff off of Damnation I would prefer "Closure" and "Death Whispered A Lullaby" to "In My Time of Need" and "To Rid the Disease." "Windopane" would be an acceptable substitution for any of those. Of course as far as ballads go the one they should play more than anything is "Harvest," unless of course they felt like doing "To Bid You Farewell."

From Deliverance I would prefer "Master's Apprentice" to "Deliverance." I liked the closing of the Lamentations Over America tour with "Blackwater Park" followed by "Demon of the Fall." I don't think they should change anything with that. I also loved hearing "The Moor" and would love to hear it again.

When it really comes down to it I'm going to love any show they do simply because I love the band and I love their music. Granted, I would like to hear some sets more than others, but I'm not going to feel too entirely put off if it's not the exact one I would have chosen.

Yeah, I doubt band is always prepared to play that song.

You should be killed... by a Gorilla out of fuckin' nowhere.

I think the Grand Conjuration is definately becoming a staple song... the band seem to really enjoy performing it live and quite a few people in the audience are shouting for it. For my part I don't like the studioversion very much but after hearing it live twice I do believe it is a good live song. The Moor will be played on the next leg of Opeth's european tour (Mikael said so himself on both the Malmö and Gothenburg gigs), and I would really like to hear Beneath the Mire aswell...

The only song off of Morningrise I'd like to hear is "Nectar". Orchid is a better record imo and definately "The twilight is my robe" would be a blast to hear live!

songs to drop:

Drapery Falls
Deliverance
In My Time Of Need
Face Of Melinda

songs to include:

KARMA!!!
Godhead's Lament
Advent
Twilight Is My Robe
Dirge For November
