the lead and overdubs were done with guitar rig 2 presets for simplicity's sake. the rhythm guitar is 2 takes; wagner with fredman straight and fredman angled on each take panned 80/100 LEFT and 80/100 right respectively

awesome im glad the responses are good so far. i've heard WAY better stuff done on here using real amps instead of impulses. i have a 5150 and an engl but the wagner plugin sounds pretty good to me.

but i'm also of course looking for negative (but constructive) comments about it for instance the hi-hat thing. i will try to address that and am looking for more suggestions on what i can do to make it sound better

The drums are really bright and the guitars are dark. It clashes to me. But I am having the same problem with my mix...

Yea maybe a bit to much sizzle on the cymbals/hats but the guitars sound sick as fuck for plugin man. I could never get wagner sounding that good. I thought i may have heard the guitars get a little woofy in parts. Maybe a little c4 to clean up them heavy palm mutes. This mix by no means sounds bad though.

im mixing on headphones but the guitars are not nearly as woofy. on the drums i forgot to "multi" (seperate) the drum tracks so one of my Eqs i usually use on the kick (raise the highs) was being applied to the drums as a whole. couple more things. made the solo easier to hear.

Guitars sound too polished instead of raw/"in your face" to me.
