Original Dokken Lineup Reunites!! (Yes WITH Lynch!)

Don's voice is nowhere near its prime any longer, but its also better than it has been in quite a few years now. The thing I'd be concerned with is that Lynch can barely play his solos even remotely as well as he used to. I admit I'd probably go to see them though regardless, it's freaking Dokken after all.

Classic Lineup Of DOKKEN Announces Only U.S. Reunion Show

"...The classic lineup of DOKKEN will play its only U.S. reunion show on September 30 at Badlands Pawn Guns Gold And Rock 'N' Roll in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The concert will be a warm-up gig for the band's six-show Japanese run dubbed "Unleashed In The East"...."

I saw Lynch Mob 4 years ago, and Lynch sounded pretty good then so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

That's one instance, there are countless others where his phrasing is worse than Lil Wayne's on a crack bender, and he flubs note after note. Jon plays Lynch's own stuff better than Lynch has in years.

That is bad news indeed. I thought he sounded pretty good 4 years ago, but then again that was 4 years ago wasn't it? If he hasn't been practicing then he could lose it quickly. I wonder if the Dokken tour in Japan will get bad reviews now.

I love Lynch and his playing, but Jesus, the guy's gone downhill, which, honestly to someone who adores his playing so much, is saddening.

I love Dokken as much as anybody did back in the 80's, but Don's voice is shot...gone...cu put. He can bring in the best musicians in the world and his voice still won't change. Maybe he should have taken better care of himself.

Don's voice isn't quite what it was in the 80's, and it did take a horrendous down turn in the 2000's, however, "shot" is the absolute last word I would use to describe his voice as of right now:

well, Lynch may not be the shredder he once was ( I have a feeling he's not actually interested in that style of playing anymore), but the last Lynch Mob tour I saw this year was phenomenal, in no small part due to the super-solid Oni Logan though.
Last Lynch Mob album and last George Lynch solo album (with excellent singer from Tribe of Gypsies) are both excellent though. For songs, not so much for guitar heroics though.

Sorry man that is pretty shot to me. He just cant hit anything close to high, he goes low on a few, drowned out by the drunks in the audience too cmon!!

Jeff will help but he would be better off with backing tracks, just saying

You do realize he's hitting the majority of the notes just fine, right? He goes softer or more piano on a few, which is just being a good musician and creating sound dynamics, not lowering his pitch. He's even recovering that ghostly, serene falsetto he used to have, as clearly evidenced by the opening seconds of his performance. As for being "drowned out by the drunks in the audience", the camera being used to record it all isn't of the greatest quality, and the guy drowning him out is right next to the camera and screaming his lungs out, so unless Don is supposed to be Graham Bonnet, no shit he's getting drowned out. Don is all the way up on stage, this guy is a good few rows back, and much closer to the camera's already low quality mic than Don.

Hey man Its cool if you want to make excuses for him, after the last few shows I have seen Don sing, I cannot do that any longer . I have hung out with the guy a few times and he has been nothing but a class act and very cool but from from few shows as of late seeing some of the videos other than this , its just bad....very bad....

How is explaining the sound dynamics at play in the video making excuses for Don? If I thought it was a bad performance, I'd call it out as such. I've seen bad performances from Don, this however was not one of them. When was the last time you saw him sing live anyhow?
