Morticia NL.

Orphaned sister
Hello friends at PP Europe :)

I have been to a lot of ProgPower festivals with Orphaned Land. Those were some good times! As I know that the band has quite some fans in the festival,
I want to update you on loads of news concerning Orphaned Land (played at PP USA, Europe, Scandinavia and UK)

Official site of the band:
http://www.orphaned-land.com
You can listen to a teaser of the new album here

Here is the news plus links

Finally the veil on “The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR”, the highly anticipated new Orphaned Land album, is lifted! The release of the bands’ fourth studio album is set for January 25th 2010 in Europe, January 27th in Japan and February 9th in the USA.

As communicated before, the album is mixed by Steven Wilson who also plays keyboards on it. According to Century Media: “The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR turns out to be a sophisticated concept album taking ORPHANED LAND’s unique brand of exotic, heavy music to soaring new heights in terms of complexity and catchiness. It is an audible manifest that the time has come for Middle Eastern metal to take over!”

"'The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR' is a concept album revolving around a hero: the warrior of light. This hero isn't someone specific, but could be the listener of the album himself, as this album deals with the problems we are facing in our lives every day. Especially here, in the Middle East, we feel that we are trapped in a loop of confusion and darkness. Living in this region, we see that year after year nothing changes. People continue to die in useless wars and we are trapped in a bloody circle. ORPHANED LAND has been around for 18 years and we continue to sing about the same subjects and stories, because after 18 years we are still living in a tragic, orphaned land. To fight this tragedy we have chosen a peaceful, yet powerful weapon: our music."

I promise to keep you posted on what's happening during the coming months. And click those links.
Really, this album is unbelievable and there is so much to tell you about it...

:Smokin: damn excited about it!

I hope it'll be good. They sucked so much during their live performance on Progpower 2007 (or 6?) that I kind of lost hope in them. Or maybe they're just not a live band...

Yeah, it was 2007 and I was rather disappointed too, since I heard a lot of good about them. Perhaps they can come back and redeem themselves at Progpower 2010 :)

I would hope so! Let's see once there is a tour schedule after the new album is out.

More news:
There is a new video of the band waiting for you at their brand new YouTube channel! http://www.youtube.com/user/OrphanedLandTV This is in fact a teaser for the documentary!

Speaking of which: there is news on the "A heaven you may create documentary": the site for it is now opened www.aheavenyoumaycreate.com or go to the disciples site and choose a heaven you may... from the menu

Steven Wilson comments on mixing the new Orphaned Land album on his site, here is the article: Steven Wilson recently played keyboards and mixed the fourth album by Israeli progressive metal band Orphaned Land. For those who have never heard the band, they are perhaps best described as what Opeth might sound like if they had come from the Middle East instead of Scandinavia. The music has a similar scope and degree of layered sophistication. But the sound of Orphaned Land is very much inspired by their roots, sung in English, Hebrew and Arabic and featuring many traditional Middle Eastern instruments. The album “The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR” is an ambitious and impressive 75 minute conceptual piece combining heavy music and breathtaking beauty”.

It is released by Century Media in several editions on 9th February 2010 in the US and January 25th in Europe.

The band is preparing to launch a series of introspective webisodes documenting the making of the album and the first album trailer can be viewed now at the band’s official YouTube page(http://www.youtube.com/OrphanedLandTV) This clip features some commentary from Steven Wilson and the band mixed in with live performance footage from Tel Aviv.
