Yeah, funny video. However that thing could make drum programing more fun. Anyone know how good those Yamaha DD-55 work? Or do you have any other interesting gear? I'm just a simple guitarplayer and not interested in spending $6000 on synthdrums, nor do I have enough space for acoustic drums.

Ive used the Yamaha ... NO it does NOT make things easier ....lol Takes too much accuracy to hit the pad properly...lol

Since the topic of these electronic drums in particular came up, anyone ever use these or know how to use these (if possible) to trigger samples using midi?

Same principal as a keyboard triggering midi ...

Midi Out
to
Midi In

to trigger the software....

I find using my Zoom Drum machine the easiest way to program my Drums ... Midi out to DFH. a little quantizing and BOOM ... kick ass drums.
