While I was in Driver's Ed this morning, we had 104.3 on (classic rock station) and I was pissed off, because I thought I'd be driving to some Pink Floyd, but no. They had to be gay about it.

I was in drivers ed this morning and the lady put on shakira!:zombie:

yes it is...

I for 1 don't care at all for Sid's music, he may have influenced some of there early work, but Gilmore was truely the saving force behind them. If they didn't get rid of Sid, the band would have faded away along with the rest of the psychedelic acid rock/pop groups of the 60's.

I agree with this, however its clear that his situation inspired many of the band's future works that they are best known for (much of Wish you were Here, The Wall, parts of Dark Side). So its almost like his best contribution to Floyd was losing his mind.

Btw, way to go on misspelling both Syd and Gilmour's names ;)

You know, I don't care for his music either--but I at least think some respect is due. I have to think there was a lot of missed potential in him, that if not for the drugs and other issues, he could have matured and whether with the band or solo gone in better directions than he did. What's unfortunate is that we'll never know.
