OT: Slayer Afraid of Stryper

Im really disapointed about al this, Slayer were supposed to Headline the MMF Vol. III (Monterrey Metal Fest in Monterrey Mexico) and also bands like Stryper, Edguy, Deicide, Warcry, My band (Solitude), and many others.

But Slayer decides to cancel their show because their "personal reasons".
There are some "Official" Information in the web that says that slayer dont want to appear at this show because Stryper is in the bill, so they have canceled.
The MMF (named this year "Hell and Heaven united") have move to November due to this, but Slayer isnt in the bill anymore, people here are frustated, we haven´t seen Slayer for about 12 years.

Maybe was bad idea to put this two bands together, but it seems to be a childish attitude from Slayer(or their managers) and people here are looking at Slayer now as "Gayer" bad image for this band.

Actually, Stryper was pretty badass, considering that they were cheesy christian glam metal. Some killer solos.

Lol, yeah Tom is a catholic. Everyone must remember the shit they were given about being satanic, and not allowed to play some venues, and the album title "God Hates Us All" again, being another dig at Christianity and shit. It's like people saying music has subliminal messages. Actually I take that back as far as Slayer is concerned (see the start of the Hell Awaits album).

sounds to me like you are engaging in pure speculation and have no hard facts to back any of your feelings up. yeah, it sucks slayer isn't coming to play there... but don't make up a reason to make them the bad guys. i honestly don't think slayer care at all about who else is playing.

Believe me James, im not speculating, they still gonna play in Mexico, but not in the Festif they have another good reason, maybe they should cancel the entire tour.

Oh, i almost forget, Slayer wanted to manage de fest, they wanted to deicide wich bands gonna play and wich band not, funny uh? i think they still thinking that this fest is named "Unholy alliance tour"

Besides, while the reasons will get buried like always, I think silence leads to speculations... It's way better to not get pissed on the artist and blame the organisation, sure they'll have more guilt than slayer on this.

Maybe you´re right, but i dont think the org have all the guilt, i know the guys and they are professional, they really are doing the thinks great, the two past festivales were really succesfull, i dont know rafa basa but he is a journalist, and we all know how journalist work.

the truth is that even slayer haven´t released a press statement about this, and they gonna play the same day in Mexico but in other city (Mexico City).One thing or another, im dissaponted , i want to see Slayer in a big Stage as the Coca Cola Auditorium in Monterrey are.
