Other day I watch the video boot from Wacken 98

No, you're being bashed for pointless trolling. "Fuck Owens." Real great, buddy. You're trying to be old-school and rebellious by labelling anyone who wants to give Owens a chance "sheep," but you just end up looking irrelevant and whiny. You, homeboy, are the quintessential Rebel Without A Clue. Get one.

By the way, as far as I'm concerned, IE started their decline in 1996 when Jon forgot how to write new riffs. I'm still going to give them a chance, though, because I don't wander around saying "fuck this" and trying to stir up shit before I even hear what it is I'm talking about.

But if that's what you wanna do, go ahead. I don't think IE will miss you.

Damn right wiggidy whack. I AM the shit. The world revolves around ME! Get real. I do stand corrected. It was around then when Jon started rehashing everything. tho the Wicked Trilogy is godamn good!

I personally think Owens is a very bad idea for IE. He is Iron Maidens Blaze. His voice just DOES NOT fit. Imagine Birth of the Wicked with all the lyrics sung in that ungodly high pitch wail Tim does. Thats what I see happening. If the cd comes out and its the greatest thing ever (yeah) then you guys can make fun of me all day. but I dont see it happening. This WAS the band I was REALLY into. But now I get pissed whenever I think about the new album.

I have heard the promo for the glorious burden,I heard it last friday.I didn't like the way it sounded. The music was heavier than what they have been doing, more like Night of the stormrider and Burnt Offerings but the voice just didn't go with it,IMO.

Lol that's all too true Iced...Owens might be ok for the old material which they don't play much live, and this new one,but I don't see him doing any justice to Matt's material judging by the clips on IE.com.

But anyway,if the new album is crap I'll probably just start listening to the old ones more...the Arch Enemy board shows pretty well how well even band members, not to mention fans, take criticism.

There's a promo going around, believe me.That was Ripper Owens and the guy who played the promo for me gets official cds directly from labels and stuff.

I would think it was Judas Priest but the music was too thrashy to be Judas, the guitars were definately Iced Earth and it still had the chorus parts that were used in some songs from Horror Show but it just sounded so different with Owens,I think that voice didn't go with the music.I only heard 2 songs of course, and one was like an intro with not many vocals but anyway

Oh man, that board turned into shit, insults only worked in the Hate Pit, she didn't take wHats-his-names comments too well did she?

No she didn't. The picture in your sig is disgusting and hilarious at the same time you know.

Listened to Burnt Offerings yesterday. Liked it very much.

Wow, the children here get so bitter. Two quite nasty reputation remarks. Living in my moms basement, and gap tooth trailer trash. Thats the best you pansy bitches can come up with? Give me a fucking break.

Shouldnt you be sucking Jons cock about now telling him how awesome "Glorious" Burden should be?

I'm not sure what the Hell everyone is getting worked up about. It's just an opinion. :erk:

I just think you should give the entire album a listen before you pass too much judgement on Owens' singing abilities in Iced Earth. Personally, I love Matt Barlow, and would like nothing more than to see him back with IE (Owens is a little too screechy for IE, in my opinion). But lets face the facts; it probably ain't gonna happen. So we can all either sit here and complain, or we can enjoy what we get from a kickass band.

I know you're not an idiot, in fact you seem like a nice guy. All I ask is that you open your mind a bit, and give it a chance.

Eh, maybe I went entirely off track, cause I'm starting to wonder why the Hell I'm even saying this. Maybe it just came to mind for some reason. I'll just stop now.

I'm very open minded. I think Tim is a pretty damn good singer. Just not for IE. I cant see his style fitting at all. And from the sound clips I've heard I doubt the album will be much different. I just could never stand the really high screeching singing he does. And it bothers me to think about what Stygian and Dracula will sound like now.

Tim in IE = Blaze Bayley in Maiden.

I'm actually in an agreement with that. He's not exactly Iced Earth material if you ask me. Maybe Matt will come to his senses and come out of retirement like he knows he wants to.
