Other good anti-Christian metal?

I love Amon Amarth for its virulently anti-Christian lyrics. I've probably listened to "Ride for Vengeance" and "The Sound of Eight Hooves" a thousand times. With Christmas coming and the post-election analyses about how George Bush was re-elected using religion, I'm especially angry at the swine. :ill:

Other metal often has vaguely atheistic overtones, but not much of it is as explicitly anti-Christian as Amon Amarth.

Who else makes songs about burning down churches and stuff?

I don't know about burning down churches so much, but Deicide's always good for blaspheming. Immolation has some good stuff too ("Can you hear us? Death to Jesus!"). 90% of the black metal genre for that matter. See Marduk's Christ-Raping Black Metal.

indeed. Marduk also released a disk called Fuck Me Jesus, and the intro is a rape scene, you can hear this girl screaming and a male voice yelling : "let Jesus fuck you!! Let Jesus fuck you!!" its a fucking violent image i find (i mean for a christian, and for those like me and all of us, who were raised in a christian society and mentality).

Isn't that the scene from the Exorcist?

Ah damn it the whole anti-christian theme is just so fucking boring now, how many more albums or bands will come out with the same old theme. The whole horror-gore was fun too ... or used to be. Plus your idea of AA singing about burning down churches is so biased and remote from their lyrical concept I won't even get into it.

You like the music or the lyrics? If you're looking for bands based on lyrics/image then that's a bit out of whack if you ask me. Go to a library.

Uh, sorry Belgar, but it's gunna be of interest until they (bible thumpers, not all Christians) stop trying to fuck us (non-bible thumpers) up the ass. Fuck, I can tell you some small part of what has been said and done to my kids alone just in the last few weeks of this Christmas! It's no wonder people grow up wanting to spit venom. I refuse to let myself or my kids take on a victim mentality, but I reserve the right to be pissed off and bang my head to let off steam with others who are likeminded, or I would most likely rip someone a new asshole. Sometimes one needs to allow oneself to go bärsärkagång, and what better soundtrack to do it to than AA?

hmmm i don't think so, i've seen the first exorcist and it doesnt ring a bell. but it could be actually, cause i dont picture marduk playing out this intro :p
by the way, is it true Marduk's last album was banned for its violent lyrical content?

well what ur saying is true, i found it weird too at first but hell, i've been searching viking oriented lyrics myself, which made me think that lyrics do have an importance for some people! so if he gets a boner on antichristian lyrics, well let him, you can even give him a hand ;) and greet the newcomer like a respectable host!^^
but it is true that AA's lyrical theme in general is not about killing christians or just hating them stupidly, even less in their new stuff.

wow you must be a hell of a cool mama! :D
but it arouses me, i thought i had seen a picture of you that you put on the now drinking thread.. long silk black hair and especially very young (for a mother)!.. without wanting to be to nozy

If youre looking for some fun anti-christian Metal, with great lyrics, then listen to Finntroll. They have swedish lyrics(which for me is no problem anyhow), but heck it's a fun mix of finish humpaa and Metal. And who doesn't like making a nice meal of christian priests? :D

Noooo, Celtik! That's Dead Lioness, I think. I'm probably old enough to be your mom...old enough, in any case, to be Johan's OLDER sis, so maybe I have gained some coolness by osmosis. Oh, no, I forgot, he got it from me.
Anyhow, I think what I meant was kind of like what you said in the earlier post, about if someone gets a boner off the lyrics, then good for them, only as you can see, I tend to get pissed off occasionally, and especially at CHRISTmas, so you got a rant instead. At this time of year, I feel the need to play something NOT so christian, to balance all the fucking carols (hence that alternative carol thread that I started), so at this time of year, especially, FOR ME, the lyrics do matter. One cannot bang head to country, and so the music needs to be loud and vicious, too, to get the full effect. It's a form of primal scream therapy for me, to blow off whatever steam that would otherwise blow up the ass of someone else that maybe didn't deserve it.....

I don't listen to Amon Amarth because of their lyrics. I listen to them for their instrumental prose, mostly.

I like AA's "anti-christian" lyrics much more than the usual "satanic/anti-christian" lyrics because it shows the "imperialistic" nature of Christianity. Their aim of converting "poor heathens" and win souls. Same problem with Islam.
Hinduism is not like that. It clearly states that there are many different ways to reach God and the name you him doesn't matter.
