Our own little Kenny Sorceron....

Loving the mix James, especially that kick. Is it a Slate sample or is it something you miced up?
I can't freaking wait to find the right kick drum to buy and experiment with until I get it sounding just right...I've even got an SM91 ready to go!

Ken: Impressed with the product. Very cool tune. Also impressed to see somebody using the equipment from my neck of the woods. Presonus is right down the street from where I live. I love their equipment.

James: Awesome mix. Not suprising, though .... comin' from your camp! You got the midas touch, sir. Good job, and thanks for sharing with us!

In the song i can clearly hear some Dimmu Borgir influence (keyboards, and some clean vocals at the end), nevermore (clean vocals at the end again), and some of the stuff reminds me of killswitch engage (some parts, the screaming vocals, the production).

Am i right about the Dimmu Borgir influence ? (especially for the keyboards)

very interesting! super pro sounding.

I've never heard of anyone getting good results from actually holding a mic while singing/tracking, but maybe it's more common than I think. I would think every movement would be picked up like bumping the mic.

Maybe the orchestra part was Dimmu influenced but the piano stuff is something they would never have. I am a fan of Nevermore and KSE so I dunno maybe.

i re-amped the guitars, using my 6505+ for all 4 tracks and then reamping 2 of the tracks again with the Krankenstein... blending just a little bit of that in. pedals: TS808, ISP Decimator. mic'ed with a 57 into an ADL600.
