Overdrive/distortion plug-in for bm vocals

What are your favorite plugins for adding little overdrive for extreme metal vocals? I'm now in mixing stage of my band's album and in some songs the vocals sound a little weak in the mix, so I thought adding some overdrive would not hurt. Our vocalist has a high pitched black metal-kinda voice. In some songs it seems he lacks some needed harsh middle-frequency in his voice, so it sounds less powerful than it actually is. We tripled all the vocal tracks.
What are your favorite vocal distortion plugins? Do you know any free ones? Other tips & tricks for vocal tracks?

Steinberg Magneto is pretty good. It comes free with Cubase SX. For more extreme effects I use E-Phonic LOFI.

Try Voxengo's Voxformer plugin. It's saturation and dual compressors can add some serious grit without destroying the tracks.

Lately I've been using Native Instruments Guitar Rig as well as some random distortion AU plugins off MacMusic.org
