Has anyone heard the results of a mic setup like this?

i think it looks a bit hilarious and probably was only done for a shootout,
but practially, when you have a great performance, and 4 slightly different sounding tracks you just use the ones that sounds best and scrap the others at the end.
i would do the same to if i would have that much mics and pre´s ;)

i dont have experience with blending them together to one track, so i absolutly dont know how it would sound at the end of all mics blended togehter
but also maybe each mic is set to a different polar pattern too?
or go through a different (set) pre-amp..

cheers

Yea - a shootout... It makes no sence to use more than one mic in the mix later because of phase issues. If you want to use more than one vox mic you should use one set up "regular" and one or two (usually two) a few feet away left and right. But that is a PITA to edit/mix.
