Someone commented in another thread about how prevalent Carry On is as a song-title in metal. I was just listening to a tune called Blood Money (Joe Lynn Turner...not Overkill), and I was just thinking about all the cliched or overused song titles in metal. Thinking back, these are a few that come to mind:

Breathless
Run For Cover
something about Hurricanes
something about Nights in the City or City at Night

Now that I type, I start drawing blanks...what else YOU got?

Save Me
Forever
Farewell
I'm Alive/Still Alive
Broken
Break the Silence/Breaking the Silence
Anything involving the words "fire", "angel" or "tears"
Legend of [whatever]
Sword of [whatever]

Shadowland. I have more songs called that on my ipod than anything else.

Coming Home

Scorpions, Y&T, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Loudness, UDO, Stratovarius, Pagans Mind, Megadeth, Tankard, Iron Saviour, KISS, Cinderella, Angel Dust, Ozzy (Mama, I'm...),Axel Rudi Pell

I agree with all the above. Also in Hard Rock they have used the title "Hold On" way too many times.

Prog bands love to have song titles about:

the mind
dreams
reality
things being figuratively broken
insanity

despite the predictableness of lyrical themes and song titles in our genres, it's a heck of a lot better than any other genre. Pop music is all dancing and love, R&B is all love(if it's a guy) and you no good cheater and I'm strong enough to leave you(if it's a girl). Rap actually explores pretty diverse territory, but they don't spell their titles right and use "pimpin'" too much.

By the way, are there any metal songs with "pimpin'" in the title?

Stuff with fire
