I saw this on another board and like I said on there, I'm the first to admit that Bruce doesn't know when to keep his big yap shut, but what Sharon did was fucking inexcusable. She basically took it out on the fans who'd paid a shitload of money to see Maiden play and then ruined their gig for them.

I agree with you. Not that I disagree, or think it was wrong for Bruce to say what he did. Although I do think it was highly unprofessional of him to say that stuff on a tour where the guy he was insulting was actually paying his band to be there. If Bruce wanted to say stuff like that, while playing at the Ozzfest was definitely the wrong time to do it. Sharon shouldnt have taken it out on the fans though. That was also very unprofessional. She should have waited till the show had ended, then had it out with Bruce personally.

Again, agreed! Ozzy should have stopped her from interfering in his band affairs years ago. Ozzy has lost a lot of respect from metal fans in the last few years, and a lot of that has had to do with Sharon. When she does something like that, Ozzy is inevitably dragged down as well, and is classed as guilty by association. If Bruce slagged Ozzy off at Ozzfest, that was obviously wrong. But Sharon has always been an eejit.

Basically, Sharon shouldnt have done what she did, and Bruce Dickenson was, if he was slagging ozzy off, being a total arsehole.
Cant say it was fair on the fans, but I for one think Bruce should take the blame for it, it was his ocmments after all the set up the whole shenannigans.

Bruce was an asshole to walk Ozzy's stage, take his money and trash him onstage night after night. Regardless of whether it's true there's such a thing as respect for a hugely influenntial rock star - a star who is even bigger than you are, Bruce.
It was petty of him and so was Sharon's revenge. But Bruce started the pettiness with his repeated tirades, which he probably figured after the first one that he could do it with impunity. I feel bad for the fans but if I had been there I think I would be as entertained by Bruce getting his comeuppance as I would've been by a by-the-numbers Maiden set.
I am sad that the rest of the band has to pay when Bruce decides to be a prick though. He's a very talented guy who should stick to his strengths and stop philosophizing on stage.

That's not the point. I PAID MONEY to see Iron Maiden front row that night and I DON'T like Sharon and her daughter RUINING the show for me by throwing eggs over my head. It's called being a 'professional'.
If she's got a personal beef with the singer, take it up backstage, not on stage. How would you like it it if you paid $200 for a slayer show and some band's ex-gf tried to ruin it? Or a local band where a member plays half ass all night cuz they're ticked at another member for sayiing something? You feel you got your moneys worth?

It IS the point. If I had gone to that show and watched Bruce bash Ozzy, I would've laughed my ass off at him getting egged and having the power pulled. It served his arrogant ass right, too bad his band got it along with him but Steve should've curbed his singer. I like Maiden but for what they did at Ozzfest, fuck them. They completely deserved it and I wouldn't mind it at all. Fuck with the bull, get the horns.
Ozzy has a far bigger place in the history of rock and metal than Bruce and Maiden. Bruce is a midget insulting a giant fucking with Ozzy. Especially since Ozzy is getting on and getting dotty in his old age. It's like attacking someone who can't even really fight back.
Sharon is surely a bitch, but I can't fault her for taking vengeance on a punk-ass bitch who talked shit about her old man the whole tour.
As for the fans, they can get over it, or blame Bruce and direct your ire at him. He asked for it, he caused it to happen. Sharon took up for her husband and for once I understand and agree with what she did.

Somehow I kinda doubt you'd be okay if Iron Maiden's show got ruined if you paid money for them. Also maiden, if they wanted to be as immature as her, can pay someone $50 to throw eggs at Ozzy during his show too. I guess in your world, this is what you view as maturity (they didn't have to, they got their revenge when 80% of the crowd left before ozzy. karma).
and be careful of the word "deserve". It's one of the most dangerous words in the english language. Someone can just as easily use that word to validate doing something bad to you.

Oh yeah, you see I am a Maiden Fan, but I was a Sabbath and Ozzy fan for 10 years before Maiden even existed as far as being a signed and known act. Despite your doubts I would have laughed my ass off and asked for some eggs to throw myself if I was there. Because if BRUCE wants to be an immature dick, then you get right down to his level.
As for 80% of the people leaving before Ozzy, Ozzfest is an all-day thing in the heat of San Bernardino. Lots of people have seen Ozzy perform the same set at several previous Ozzfests. And leaving Glen Helen is a fucking nightmare. All of which you know very well. Many people come to Ozzfest for the different bands that play each year, and each year most leave at least before Ozzy is done, trying to beat the traffic nightmare.
As far as "deserve", since I am not an asshole and don't treat people like shit the way Bruce likes to do - like bitching at people for smoking pot at a ROCK CONCERT - ill treatment coming my way is NOT "deserved".
But if I DID do something shitty and got shitty treatment in return, I would take it like a man.

It served him right and it's not like I'd have paid to ONLY see Maiden. It was an all-day fest and if I were there to see Ozzy then Maiden would only be a bonus. I saw them on Powerslave tour at their peak anyway. Except that Bruce's voice was trashed because he drank in those days.

Again, you got your money back so you went to Ozzfest for free that year. I don't blame you for doing that either, but at the point you got your refund you were compensated for your bad experience. And still got to experience the rest of the day's shows.
BTW, I heard they played more than one song. My understanding is that they got egged, and also got the power cut on them several times. All that within one song? Either way, it's Bruce's fault, it would never have happened if he hadn't run his mouth about someone who is a bigger rockstar than he is.
