Ozzy's solo career

I remember not liking Patient Number 9 when it came out, but after listening to it again it's better than I thought it was. Still not a shadow of his earlier career but not the shit I remember.

I haven't listened to them all in entirety so it's hard to say fairly. Blizzard was one of the first albums I ever listened to and I have some really nice memories attached to it. I think Blizzard sticks with me as having more sentimental appeal, whereas Diary comes close in that respect but maybe comes out a bit above Blizzard in terms of being musically interesting. Bark at the Moon and Ultimate Sin have some of my favorite Ozzy songs and I like the stylistic progression even if they 80s'd it up. I just can't put them above the first two, given my sentiment.

I can't make a good quality judgement because I'm so wrapped up in the nostalgia I have attached to his first two; I even love Black Rain a lot (and I got sentiment for that one too) , and for all I know that could be a better album by my standards, and I'd still be talking about Blizzard and Diary.

I'll go with Diary tbh, but not by much.

Top 10 songs, probably:

1. I Don't Wanna Stop
2. Mr. Crowley
3. Breaking All the Rules
4. Tomorrow
5. Killer of Giants
6. Over the Mountain
7. No More Tears
8. My Jekyll Doesn't Hide
9. Miracle Man
10. Spiders

Honourable mentions to Demon Alcohol, Rock 'n' Roll Rebel and Fire in the Sky. So No Rest for the Wicked wins my top 13 stats as it ought to.

Kinda tough one but like Bloopy said, top 10 Ozzy songs, probably:

1. "Over the Mountain"
2. "Crazy Train"
3. "Bark at the Moon"
4. "I Don't Know"
5. "Ghost Behind My Eyes"
6. "S.A.T.O."
7. "No Easy Way Out"
8. "Tattooed Dancer"
9. "Mr. Crowley"
10. "See You on the Other Side"

"Crazy Train" is the "Smoke on the Water" of the 80's, pop culture has raped it but it still hasn't gotten old to me.

Honourable mention to "Walk on Water" from the Beavis & Butthead soundtrack, and also Ozzy's collaboration with Type O Negative. Don't usually care about covers but that Status Quo cover they did is fucking amazing.

Imagine all the electrolytes and things they were injecting & pouring into him backstage to reanimate him mid-set during Zakk's 15 minute guitar solo break
I just watched the doco God Bless Ozzy Osbourne (on the Internet Archive in full). Worth checking out. The crazy solo tour stories which Tommy Lee says were on another level he wasn't ready to compete with, haha.
