Pachelbel Rant

Hey, this is kinda related(i guess), i just found what classic work Sonata from Twilight is derived from.

Sonata 8 in C minor (Pathetique) Adagio cantabile
It's awesome, get into it!

Jax should sticky that thread.
Wouldnt the band kinda be a bit embarrased by that though?? I mean they probably didnt do it intentionally but i'm sure if they heard the comparisions they'd be a bit surprised. When u listen to something enough u start to sound similar, and i'm guessing thats what has happened. But yeh, its embarrasing (to them not me... i dont hold it against them).

Actually, they did it on purpose and if you listen carefully you'll notice it's not just influences. They use those parts almost as they were originally written with maybe a few variations and sometimes transposed to a more convenient scale.

Actually, i believe, all melody patterns, chord progressions we are listening today, were composed and played long time ago, in different styles, with differenty instruments, over and over. So there is no point in calling "rip off" for something, if the artist was trying to make something beautiful, rather then ripping off someones work.
