I have got to say that I just received the latest Pagan's Mind album from The End Records, and I just listened to it for the first time today. I thought it was a great album...and I have read many reviews from different sources...but am I the only one to notice that the last track is a ripoff of Learning To Live?
I am hoping that the track is somehow inspired by, or supposed to be a tribute to Dream Theater, or maybe is some kind of inside joke. But the awful truth remains that vocal melodies, verse structures, solo licks, and general arrangements all "pay homage" to Learning To Live from Images And Words.
I'm not crying ripoff...just wondering if anyone can shed more light on this. I listened to it in my car for the first time today, so I'm going to open the booklet and see if I can find any info on this track.
For those of you that haven't noticed....give it a listen...carefully.
Otherwise...a truly outstanding album!
