I'm sure a few of you guys on here play. Well, a few friends at work play and I'd love to get back into it if not for anything else but exercise, plus it kicks ass. I haven't played for about 7 or so years. Anyways, when I did play, I always just rented, but now I would like to own my own gun, but I have no clue where to start, or whats good (preferably something that doesnt jam a lot, and is reliable). I know I want a semi-auto (duh) but after that, its all chinese to me. Please help me out here. oh, and I would like to spend no more than $200...

you going to have to spend at least $250 to get anything that you can even have fun with.

you will love that gun. You can put dirt down the chamber and it will still shoot. Hell i have even went down under water with it. I let it dry out for a day, and bam. Good as new. I wouldn't recomend that though. You see guys out there spending $2000 on a maker that try have to clean after every match or it stops working. Hell i never clean that tank.

And i would invest an extra $89 on a flatline barrel for it. You will be able to shoot twice as far, and farther then anybody else.

some words of wisdom, throw out the plastice piece. It is only for looks and it gets in the way when you adjusting it. And yes the barrel is crooked, the didnn't send you a factory reject. It puts backspin on the ball and makes it go flying. The only con about it is that you tend to get a bit more ball breaks then a normal barrel so always bring a squeegee with you.

and $30 loader would be a real good upgrade also. Halo loaders are the highest quality and run about 19 balls per second but they run into the triple digit price. this will be fine for you.

im glad i finally get to pay you back for all for some of the guitar stuff you taught me about, lol.

edit: oh i almost forgot, dont forget to check ebay for any deals. Just stick with tippmann 98 custom and you will be fine

here is a great deal, but i dont know if you will make it on time there is only one hour left. it is very upgraded and already has a flatline and a "sniper" set up.

if you are gonna go the ebay route, let me see what your going to buy first so i can double check.

the mongoose could spit more paint out but really it is just an annoying gun. Then tippmann's are built like tanks and will never fail you.

you stil got some time on that auction lol, that gun is probley worth at least $400. Its a great deal.

Yeah, I'm watchin it, I might try to snipe it at the last second...If I don't get it, I may still go with the diablo only because thats a nice package for $220, really everything I need to start up quick. I'm not sure if the gun is customizable like the tipmann though...

lol...Question, it says its a sniper gun, what does this mean for more of a close combat type scenario, will I be at a disatvantage with it? Mabie I should go for a more general use gun..

no your fine with that. It has the same rate of fire as a normal tippmann 95, except you can shoot longer distances. are you going to be playing more woodsball or speedball?

i think woodsball is way more fun. You put on your camo, and your crawling around in the brush. trying to get the highground, jumping in trenches. Speedball is just putting on some bright red shirt and going into a totally unrealistic battleground where you can see everybody.

woodsball takes more cunning and thought. And if you are at woodsball, you are diffinally best with the tippman flatline. You can get it dirty and you can shoot people really far away.

Yeah, I did woodsball back in the day, I also tried Arenaball, but found it boooring (mabie you call it speedball, I don;t know all the lingo). I also did woodsball with objectives (capture the flag stuff) as well as a great place up in NH that built huge multi level castles, and played capture the fort type stuff now that was the shit..

oh awesome. I stoped playing like a year ago cause i moved but i used to live litterally right across the street from a awesome woodsball course. We had canals, roads, hills (rare for florida), treehouse bunkers trenches. Man this bring back fond memories. I used to go out with my dad every sunday.

we used to have huge matches. 60 vs 60 and crap.

nice, your gonna love that thing.

and your can get your bottles refilled at sports authority. And you can buy paint there as well. your going to need about 1500 rounds and a 20 oz tank for a day. Be sure to bring extra refills for your gun on the field.

hahah, I pissed off some guy in another forum that I asked this about, he hates tippmanns, says they have way to many parts that break, and that Spyders are the best, lol. All my friends are using the 98 as well, just talked to them, eccept this one is like way suped up compared to theres, w00t..

Now I need a mask, clothing (hmmm, army surplus store run anyone??! :) and a utility belt to hold ammo and such. I don;t have any Sports autoritys near me, I thought walmart did it too, I also have a hobbie shop near me, I'll check them out, I might bring the gun there to have it all checked out before using..

guns are actually fairly simple unlike a guitar. just put the gas on, make sure it doesn't leak (changing you o-ring once after every time your go out is a must, but they are cheap) and fire. And when you put you barrel on for the first time (you dont have to take it off ever again if you dont want) use this as a reference. It is a bit different then a regular barrel that you would just screw on.

like i said before, you are better off not using the plastic stock on it. It may lock cool but it is a pain in the ass when you are putting the barrel on.

You can get and ammo belt, and your mask at any walmart (try to get one that says fog resistant). And, like you said, any army army navy store is good for camo (duh).

I wouldn't recommend combat boots though. They get really heavy and weigh down your legs and you can't run as fast. a pair of tennis shoes is your best bet.

lol, and that guy was a n00b. Spiders are the shittist guns ever. I would get a pump gun before a crappy spider. They are sooooo inacurate it isn't even funny.

Oh and always were a hat, it hurts like a bitch when you get it in the skull without one. get a badass one like this

keep you chin down and pray you dont get shot in the balls and your good to go.

nobody uses just goggles anymore.
get something like this mask

Definitely buy this gun. I actually have a Tippmann 98 Custom that I don't use anymore (because I stopped playing paintball), and it's a great, reliable, and most importantly, affordable gun. Last I checked, you can buy them on eBay for less than $200.
