I tried finding "similar" bands to Katatonia on there, all the bands that came up sounded nothing like Katatonia (most were really shitty rockish/indie bands ).

ya its a weird kinda thing. trys to break down your musical taste into a formula and tells you what you should like. Keeps tryin to make me listen to 3 doors down (shudder).

Yeah, it can be pretty inaccurate sometimes, but if you're willing to spend some time clicking through and listening to random stuff then you can find some good stuff.
