They're definately NOT nu-metal, although they've probably influenced/inspired numerous nu-metal bands.

They are much more thrashy than nu metallish. I wouldn't say that they are a pure thrash band either. IMO they are a thrashy metal band with lots of groove and bluesy/Southern rock influence. Good band. I only have Reinventing The Steel and Far Beyond driven. Both have some really heavy songs.

I wouldn't really call them either, although they're more thrashy thn nu-metal.

I'd say a bit of both, their biggest fan base is from moshers so because of that i'm veering towards Nu Metal.

well, since they have been around since way back in the 80s playing glam/power metal, i dont think they are nu-metal. they had a major renovation with 1990s Cowboys From Hell. I believe they are heavy southern metal. THey have some good stuff.

I can't find any "nu-metal" qualities to them. however, like someone said alot of "nu-metal" bands probably look up to them or were influenced because they are a very famous band.

Hell yes! Covenant used to be awesome. Pantera isnt nu metal. Inspired alot of nu metal bands maybe but for sure not nu.

Covenant didn't get good until they changed their name to The Kovenant. But the first Covenant, the one who released such records as United States of Mind and Europa, they rule. More than Covenant did.
