Paramore - Monster (New song)

I dig the song. Glad they can pull off good songs without the said-to-be musical masterminds. Fuck those christian retard brothers.
It's not one of their best songs imho but it's catchy and definitely a decent song.

not like the rest of them aren´t religiously retarded either, this chick tweets about how fun service was on sunday, and I don´t think she´s talking about topless beach volley
LEAVE HAYLEY ALONE!!

Everytime she or the interviewers mention the word "faith" in interviews, I just caugh very loud and pretend not to hear the usual garbage following, heh.

Loving this quite a bit. Not as much grove on the drums, but the songwriting is really similar so I'm not too concerned.

Am I the only one who thinks the chorus sounds downtuned though? Sounds heavy as balls haha.

I'm a big Paramore fan. I like this, it seems her vocals changed quite a bit though, her voice I mean, it's slightly different, I can't really pinpoint exactly what. I like it though.

I'm only listening on my laptop, but drums sound like they're programmed and very slateish, snare is quite loud as well. I like the song quite a lot though, but still, I think that their particular style in "Brand New Eyes" was lights ahead of what is shown in this song

I believe it's actually Taylor (yes, the guitarist) on drums. I had no idea he played drums until a few weeks ago, saw a studio clip of him playing. Freese is only a touring member as far as I know.
Also the first time the band has used Drop C tuning too. Gives the chorus a slightly Evanescence-esque feel I think.
I don't really like pop-punk/rock that much and I just love how the band seems to be taking a more alternative rock direction.

Ah yeah, you're right!

I agree it's not their best song however I love that they kept the guitars heavy and rocking out, i recall them uploading a video of an acoustic song feat. Hayley and Taylor so was hoping that we wouldn't get another soft ballad.

As for her vocals it seems like her voice is starting to mature, I noticed she is hitting her H's in the chorus in a way that makes it sound like she's losing her voice. That's the best way I can describe it but i'm sure it's intended.

Her voice sounds worn out on this record. Like she's either recorded it when hungover or just general strain from excessive singing. However, I think the Farro brothers were key to the band. By the sounds of it Taylor mirrors Zack's style pretty well & who ever is on guitar is imitating Josh by the sounds of it too. Too a certain degree anyway. Better than I expected, i'd be interested to hear more material & if they try to retain their original sound even though the guy who wrote the music has left the band.

i'll just put this out their... taylor wrote 'decode' (which i feel to be one of their best songs)... this song has a similar "dark" feeling as decode that all the other paramore songs don't have.

personal deduction:

taylor is capable of bringing a particular darkside to paramore that josh could not (in terms of writing). i was skeptical, at first thinking that the farro bros. made the band (after hayley's singing) but after listening to this song and comparing it to decode (plus some of the live performances i have had the pleasure of seeing) with taylor... i have come to my own conclusion that the new paramore is much more real-honest-dark-unique than before and i absolutely cannot wait to hear the full length.

YES. Taylor also wrote All I wanted IIRC, and that songs busts my guts

Haha nice, then I obviously love both of his former songs.. I'm stoked for the album :D
I never actually read who wrote the songs on any CD (and most of the other info written in the booklet), maybe I should start to do so.
