Parking in Derby

Hiya.

I'm investigating accommodation for the weekend. Can anyone tell me approximately how much it is to park in Derby for the day and how safe my car would be (it's not anything flash, I don't have a great deal of money...)?

I have driven up to Derby for Bloodstock last year and the year before, and I must say when it comes to parking, it is an absolute breeze. Before I drove up the first time, I actually gave the Derby Tourist Information Centre a call and asked them about parking. I recommend you do the same, as they really couldn't have been more helpful! ASwell as telling me the prices and best car park to use over the phone, they sent me a map in the post also showing me the route from the M1 right to the car park!

I've used the same car park both years, a multi-storey somewhere just north of the city centre (about five minutes from the Assembly Rooms). Last year it cost me £4.50 for the full day and the place seemed pretty secure (no signs of trouble, CCTV etc).

As long as your'e not parking at the venue, it seems OK. We parked 5 mins from the venue for 3:80 for the day. The staff there where very good.

beware of the speed cameras as the derby constabulary are the sort of pigs that own a large collection of Böhse Onkelz albums
