This is driving me NUTS. Whenever I paste an audio clip, or even MIDI notes, it's always a little in front of where my cursor actually is. If I paste multiple repetitions the offset gets worse with each one. I'm tired of having to slide everything manually, and being paranoid about whether my shit is on time. I've got everything in the snapping menu disabled except that it's set to quarter notes, the magnetic strength is high, and it's set to MOVE TO, not MOVE BY. My time ruler is set to measures/beats, but the paste dialogue always asks for absolute time - and it's always WRONG. Wtf?

yea 8.5 follows suite. "SNAP BY" and "SNAP TO". If you are on SNAP TO it will look for the iven value you set it at. This is helpful when you are on an absolute grid. Try SNAP BY or just turn off snap and whereever your cursor is it should paste.
