While Heaven Wept (often abbreviated as WHW) is an epic doom metal band based in Dale City, Virginia, USA. Their melodic, classically influenced style could be compared to bands such as Solitude Aeturnus and Solstice; however, 2003's acclaimed 'Of Empires Forlorn' saw the band branching out into a variety of metal and progressive styles. This trend continues as WHW prepare their next album to be released through Nuclear Blast Records in 2013.

MACHINAGE has always believed in its own identity, writing songs which mix the thrash metal from the 80s together with modern technique while blending an aggressive and odd vocal melody. Playing thrash metal from the vein, these Brazilian natives have been showing their fury playing songs that truly take us back.

Must say I am purple with envy of those who will be able to watch While Heaven Wept yet again....

Come on guys. Please show your support!!

Dude. I gotta go to this. I gotta. I think I need to just save the cash and fly out on Friday afternoon after work. Then fly the fuck back on Sunday and not miss any work but still go to this. LASDKJFSADLFJK

I will fucking be there, to see While Heaven Wept and Theocracy on the same ticket. Also to help my boys Void of Reason, Hoyt you have out done yourself this time, can't wait to see Brave with members of While Heaven Wept.

Awesome. I've been harassing Hoyt about Brave for years now. I haven't seen them since I left DC in 2008 so I can't wait. Those who have never seen them before are in for a real treat.

Wow, I actually had no idea that While Heaven Wept was from Dale City. Neat! Just saw Brave at Flight of the Valkyries a few weeks back, too. They were great.

There was a time not too long ago that Brave opened about as many Jaxx shows as, well, A Sound of Thunder. Having them and WHW on the same bill should make for a very cool experience.

LOL! Talk about a reputation!

My friend Chris Wellborn was once their bass player. I heard of them when I first entered the scene because back then (around 2006?) whenever I said I was in a female fronted metal band from DC they would think I meant Brave. XD They recorded their first album with the same producer we used for our last one, but other then that (and the female-fronted thing) we have very little in common. I definitely like their use of violins and keys, though!

Looks like me and two of my friends will be driving from South West Indiana for this one.

awesome! You should check out your neighbors LORENGUARD. They just released their latest album yesterday. And it is most excellent epic fantasy metal! I cannot wait to bring them to the Pathfinder stage. :kickass:

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. :D I am very proud of this lineup. And I still have one more solid local band to announce to kick off the show. woot!

I've heard their demos. They used to dress up in silly costumes that would make 1970's Rush blush...but I haven't really kept up anymore.

heh, well from the vids I saw from two years ago, I think it's more like a 'Ren-Faire-lite' stage show since it adds to the atmosphere of the fantasy metal. I'm looking forward to seeing what they bring us.

and from what they tell me, their demos are quite embarrasing compared to their latest efforts.
