I'm gonna get flamed for this, but...

I have the album, had it for years, but its "greatness" is still yet to make sense to me. I hate that fucking drumming - no, there's nothing "good" about Fenriz behind a kit. Nocturno Culto leaves much to be desired as well. I know that this isn't very KVLT of me seeing as to how everyone wants to blow them, but Darkthrone is fucking overrated.

Darkthrone may be a bit overrated, but I really like their music, and they were innovators. Transylvanian Hunger is a good album, but it is not the best black metal album of all time (though perhaps the most influential), and it is also not my favorite Darkthrone album (I like ABitNS, UaFM, Panzerfaust, and SJ better).

I love the album... was never crazy about Under a Funeral Moon or a Blaze in the Northern Sky... but as for Transylvanian Hunger... i love the vocals... probably what I like best about the album other then the guitar melodies.. but yes Darkthrone is overrated... but you have to remember that for present time that is not a any special album but for when it came out in the 90's... it was...
