peavey 5150, I or II???

i'm planning to buy a 5150 head, but there's one question, whichof these 2 should i get? is it true the 5150I has more gain than the 5150II...

or would you recommend another amp, I play melodic death/trash...

what other bands use this amp too ( I know Arch Enemy & the Haunted do...)

A lot of bands use the 5150, i mean hell i was watching saturday night live the other day on comedy central and Tom Petty was on and using a 5150. They are really soild all around amps. If you want to see which 5150 sounds better just play them both at a local music store (that is if they have them in stock). The ampeg solid state heads have one hell of a killer distortion on them, i have one, and i wouldnt trade it for anything. They stopped making them a long time ago though so any one you will find you will have to get used.

The 5150 II sucks ass. NOT a metal amp. And yeah lots of bands use the 5150. In Flames, Arch Enemy, Nocturnal Rites etc...

Wrong, Soilwork uses 5150/Mesa Boogie Triple (or Dual) Rectifier.

Peter Wichers play over the 5150 while Ola Frenning plays over the Rectifier. I think Ola also uses a Pod Pro.

they did, i saw the new randall amp module thingee in ola frenning's rack the other night. i think its even on soilworks site that they use randall.
