Peavey Triple X head for 249.00 Good buy or good bye?

Haven't got a chance to play through it but it looks brand new. Are these great, crap or somewhere in between? Hard to turn down for that cheap (on looks alone), but I can't seem to find out much about this particular model.

even still ive got the XXL and its a great amp for a solid state, most of my recording has been done with that and alot of the guys on the forum have dug it!

I don't think so, but I'm gonna go check it out again tonight if I have time (and if the dude hasn't sold it yet). What's the scoop on the XXL? Never heard of that?

As you can tell I don't use a lot of amps. Just own a marshall and haven't ever looked to far away from that.

the XXL is a solidstate 100w head. for the price i cant reccomend anything better (solidstate) can get all them peavey tones. really need to reamp with it again, its sat collecting dust atm!!

cool, thanks for all the replies. Sounds like I should pick it up for that price as long as it isn't jacked up. Looked like it came from the showroom floor though. What's a used XXL go for in the US? I looked on ebay to get an idea but there aren't any listed.

If it's good it's a great deal but it's very suspicious. Most of them go used for about $600 I believe. Great amps. Love mine!
