I really wasn't expecting much from this album, seeing how poor "Strangling from Within" was (never heard their second), however this is very good. Other then interesting songwriting and an exlcellent mix of different musical elements (symphonic, industrial, jazz) the thing that really makes this so much better then past releases is Ihsahn's wife finally learned how to use her voice right, and it actually went from being unbearable to being enjoyable. Well it all hasn't clicked quite yet and some parts seem a little off, but this definitely seems to be a promising album. Wow, I really can't get over how great this first song is...
