I'm talking about the constant butchery of cover songs on his Youtube channel, all geared toward selling his merchandise.

He did a cover of a Blind Guardian song that all of his followers labeled as better than the original. What?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. His covers are almost always unbearable, and I think it's because of the range he's comfortable in doesn't really ever sound very good for the covers he's doing. but the original shit he does is marvelous, and he's got a great sense of humor.

I love that one, it's pretty old though.

I recently became aware that rabid Pellek hatred was a thing in some circles. Yeah, most of his covers are underwhelming, but I've seen worse things done in the name of self-promotion. It was funny to join a new group where Pellek hatred is the norm when I've posted here for so long and positivity about Damnation Angels and Pellek runs high.

I'm not a fan of his covers, mostly because they seem half-assed, but he's amazing in Damnation Angels and I'm glad he's found a way to generate some income outside that band. In this day and age that's pretty amazing.

I'm a big fan of the covers. Not all of them come out good, but then give the guy a break, he takes requests and then does it like the next day. Besides, some big stars in the top 40 world also do covers on youtube, although I know of no one as prolific as Pellek.
