He did such a wonderful job with piano and backing vocals...

Do you think he should get a permenant gig in Opeth?

Mikael mentioned at the end of the documentary that the next album may be influenced by Black Metal. Don't you think adding Per's sensuous keyboards would enhance the album big time? Or would he be unnecessary?

I think if they intend on doing Damnation tracks live. He will be needed, at least some sort of keyboard/vocalist will be needed.

Actually, I kinda want to hear what Peter sounds like on the backing vocals...as he mentioned he actually was preparing to do, before Per joined.

Peter and Mike....it might be like the Simon n' Garfunkel of Death Metal.

As far as...needing keyboards to add to the "black metal" feel of the next album. Eh, I think it could add some...as long as its used with good taste..and not gone overboard with it.

I'm not too keen on hearing any Janne Warmenesque synth solos on the next Opeth album. No thanks.

Perhaps a little..work with a small string orchestra would add an even more epic vibe though. all in good taste though.

the guy doesn't belong in the band. he can't sing and he made cock ups all over the place on the DVD, if you can't hear them your either deaf or deluding yourself.
And while were on the subject of fifth members or whatever please stop letting that wanker wilson masterbate all over opeths music. whos with me?

cue steve wilson is a genius and i want to suck his red end replys

I liked his vocal efforts...but a few people here have been saying that he screwed up the A Fair Judgement intro. It's not like it's the hardest thing on the planet. Me being the instrument illiterate person, I wouldn't know.
I think he'd be a nice addition.

I think he did a fairly good job on the DVD actually and I think he'd be a good addition to the band. Just for your information I do play guitar, bass, piano and I sing so I do now what I'm talking about.

i liked him both times i saw him live...
IMO keyboards are the easiest instrument to play in opeth.
and i DO play bass, and a bit guitar, also i learned piano a while ago. so i know what im talking about. im not saying that opeth's keyboard parts are easy (i prolly owuldnt be able to play them), just easier hten say bass, or guitar, or drums.

I know Opeth music doesn't really need keyboards, but after the DAMNATION album and the soft keyboards, it would be a nice thing to hear a more agressive, eerie type of keyboard playing.

I think Janne Warman has a unique style that belongs in Children Of Bodom alone. It would sound silly with any Opeth song. Not knocking Janne, though. He's quite awesome.

I would be all for some orchestra parts in the new Opeth CD! It would make the epicness SO MUCH MORE EPIC!!!

I think he did a pretty good job on the DVD. There was a few things I disliked such as the AFJ intro. I agree that its a really easy part but I guess maybe he wanted to add a little something but it didn't turn out to well. btw I play guitar, bass, keyboard, euphonium, trombone, and trumpet.

I say leave the bands as they are... I am big fan of what Per with Spiritual Beggars and I am a huge Opeth fan... I think best option for Opeth is having Steve to play keyboards in the recordings because he will always be producing for them anyways and then have a sessions keyboardist tour with them... And I hope Per doesn't continue to do that, because Spiritual Beggars won't be as inactive in the future as it is now and it will conflict with Opeth...

sorry but he is not, I asked Mike about it, quit bitching about a thing you dont have a clue about. as for now he is a session member...
