I use all my own. With options there are margin requirements for some securities, but that's just cash required to be held in the account. As far as buying 4k in securities on margin while you only have 2k in the account... I actually don't believe in doing that specifically. You pay interest on it and if it moves against your position you can owe more than you put in the account... I'll only risk what I put in the account.
 
Anyone here investing during these absolutely erratic times in the stock market? So far I'm up a few thousand, be it by dumb luck or educated assumptions and I'd love to hear/share some gems with people. I've found the stock market to be the most interesting part of quarantine so far. A LOT of suicide-help messages on Yahoo's finance pages...oil ETF's really fucked people 1-2 weeks ago, but now they are making people rich again.
