I found this test to be quite intriguing, since it has been developed by psychologists:

EDIT
sorry the poll seems a bit cryptic, I couldn't edit it, here's the types:

  • HI (Harmony-seeking Idealist)
  • EI (Engaged Idealist)
  • DT (Dynamic Thinker)
  • GT (Groundbreaking Thinker)
  • SI (Spontaneous Idealist)
  • LD (Laid-back Doer)
  • SR (Social Realist)
  • DR (Determined Realist)
  • ED (Energetic Doer)
  • ID (Individualistic Doer)
  • SD (Sensitive Doer)
  • GR (Good-natured Realist)
  • RR (Reliable Realist)
  • IT (Independent Thinker)
  • AT (Analytical Thinker)
  • DI (Dreamy Idealist)

Everybody I've shown it to agrees to about 80%.
The points that result in being false are usually just 2 or 3 out of the complete summary.

Keep in mind that both "answer blocks" to each question can be a possible answer in your case,
just take the one that is closer to what you think is correct.

No registration needed, just a few questions you can answer in a minute or two.
Give it a chance and post your resulting personality type here :)

Oh, and another thing, there's a matching feature once you expand on one of
the subtext pages which is interesting too!

Have fun! :dopey:

Aw godammit, now I have to post again - fie upon you! :D From the other thread...

Ah yes, I remember taking this one and finding it very insightful. Amazing how generic the questions are and how hard a time I had deciding which of two to pick, yet how accurate the results are. I got ED (Energetic Doer) - I'd say this sums it up nicely!

They are charming and full of energy and real persons of action. They keep a clear head and the overview even in difficult situations. This makes them popular problem solvers. Their ability of being able to absorb and process information is phenomenal. Energetic Doers also have strong powers of observation and a keen sense when dealing with other people. They are very perceptive, witty and clever. They have a natural ability of convincing others of their point of view

This part not so much though...

They need the kick - as far as possible with other people. Many representatives of this type have dangerous hobbies or go in for extreme sports. They quite consciously put themselves in dangerous situations again and again. At work too, Energetic Doers seek fun and variety above all. They are bored to death by routine, safety and calculability.

Cuz I'm actually quite OCD with my routines, and they keep me sane - I really fear change tbh! (though I have no trouble sucking it up when I know it's what's best). Also, while they don't mention it, the implication I think is that these people are restless and need to travel, but honestly I really don't like traveling and am happiest in comfortable, familiar places!

AT. Pretty much spot on although the conclusions are rather flattering in most cases.

Haha, I got ED as well, and I am totally not charming and cheerful. I'm sarcastic bastard. So most of the first paragraph is fairly wrong I'd say.

But I do find routine things get boring for me, I hate education and work cos its feels repetitive and I do like living a bit on the edge if I can.

The whole options thing was a real struggle for me though, I was finding I had an even balance of each and was finding it hard to chose which obviously affected the accuracy of the outcome, I tried it again on and differed on some of the choices and came out with reliable realist but even that had blatant innaccuracies - "they have respect for authority" - on the contrary, I never actually agree with anyone unless they can rationally justify their argument.

DR

Determined Realists like to bear responsibility and welcome challenges. They are stable, reliable persons. External contacts are very important to them; they mix well and are very active. They are excellent organisers and are very happy when things are done correctly and punctually; they can quickly react impatiently if others are not as conscientious, orderly and dutiful as they are. They prefer structured work which produces visible results quickly to abstract, long-drawn-out processes. Determined Realists have no problem with routine as long as it serves efficiency. However, they very much dislike unexpected and unpredictable occurrences which mess up their careful plans. Once they have committed themselves to a cause they do this with dedication and are willing to make considerable sacrifices for it.

Determined Realists do not avoid conflicts and criticism but face up to them and look for solutions. As they have a keen eye for the errors and shortcomings of others and are often quick at expressing criticism, they sometimes rub people up the wrong way especially when they lose their temper and jump to conclusions. Due to their marked sense of justice they are quickly willing to correct themselves and never take offence if someone speaks to them frankly. You do not have to seek hidden motives with them; you always know where you are. Determined Realists are often found in executive positions as they combine commitment, competence and the ability to assert themselves. In their spare time, they often also accept responsibility in clubs and other institutions. Learn more about the Determind Realist at work ...

Traditions rate highly with Determined Realists. They attend every family event and never forget a birthday or wedding anniversary. Family and friends are very important to them. With their open, communicative manner, they find it easy to get to know people and have a large circle of friends and acquaintances. They are never superficial, but reliable and loyal friends who are always there when they are needed. Determined Realists take their relationships very seriously - they dream of finding a partner for life. In a love relationship, they seek above all stability and loyalty and here, too, they are willing to invest a lot in a harmonious togetherness. Determined Realists master crises or difficult phases with composure; they would never think of breaking a promise given. As a partner, one can always rely on their support. I got "HI"...which I can agree to a certain extend.

What I don't like about this test, though, is that it focuses on the positive aspects of your personality or it displays your negative aspects of you personality is such a way like it's something you should be proud of.

Laid-back Doer (LD)

Most of it is pretty true. Only I don't NEED to have people around. Sometimes I just feel better without people. But when there are people around, yeah get ready to partttttyyy...

Laid-back Doers are friendly, happy persons. They enjoy being together with other people. Smart, eloquent, witty and charming, they like to be the centre of attraction. They do not like to be alone. Their zest for life ensures that others feel well in their company and that they quickly get to know people. Laid-back Doers get the best out of every moment - many people of this type have a gift for making their whole life one big party. Boredom is unknown in their presence because they are very good at carrying others away with their enthusiasm, their good mood and their optimism.

Abstract thinking and profound philosophising about the meaning of life appeal less to Laid-back Doers. They are pragmatic, realistic and live completely in the here and now. At work too, they prefer it when it’s all go and they can act out their purposeful manner to the full. They have no problem handling several tasks at once and they blossom out in crisis situations! A varied field of activity with a lot of social contacts is just the right thing for them. One will also seldom find them inactive in their spare time; due to their open, curious nature, they mostly have many hobbies and interests. They are not afraid of the unknown: as they are flexible and creative, they quickly adjust to new situations and make the best of them. They sometimes come into conflict with strict rules or hierarchies by which they quickly feel constrained and against which they rebel. Learn more about the Laid-back Doer at work ...

As friends, Laid-back Doers are generous, helpful persons who attach great importance to harmonious relationships and a good atmosphere. Their sociable manner means that they have a large circle of friends and they love having the house full of many different types of guests. They are happy to give in to their spontaneous moods and fancies in the just one or two important things. This makes them appear somewhat unpredictable to those with a quieter nature. When it really matters, you can rely on them one hundred percent. As partners, they are creative, impetuous and imaginative - as long as their partner knows how to fascinate them. They can hardly stand boredom or routine in a relationship. They do not like conflicts at all; if a relationship becomes too strenuous or involves too much effort, they tend to withdraw from the partnership and start to look for a new partner. However, if one manages to keep their curiosity alive in the long term and surprise them again and again, one has a loyal and loving partner. Learn more about the Laid-back Doer in love ...

Ow wait...FUCK YEAH ;-)...
Your disposition is warm, generous, and passionate. No wonder many people fall hopelessly in love with your charisma!

Analytical Thinker (AT)

pretty fucking generalized test, tho...

I'm the only SI I know out of a LOT of people I've done this test with... agreed if you mean that it is too hard to compress a complex personality into a few questions but it is the tendency towards a certain type that makes all the difference here. I do find similarities between the types but still each has it's own weight.

That being said, I wish it was more complex but that's their strategy so you buy their books I suppose....

Analytical Thinker (AT)

Analytical Thinkers are reserved, quiet persons. They like to get to the bottom of things - curiosity is one of their strongest motives. They want to know what holds the world together deep down inside. They do not really need much more to be happy because they are modest persons. Many mathematicians, philosophers and scientists belong to this type. Analytical Thinkers loathe contradictions and illogicalness; with their sharp intellect, they quickly and comprehensively grasp patterns, principles and structures. They are particularly interested in the fundamental nature of things and theoretical findings; for them, it is not necessarily a question of translating these into practical acts or in sharing their considerations with others. Analytical Thinkers like to work alone; their ability to concentrate is more marked than that of all other personality types. They are open for and interested in new information.

Analytical Thinkers have little interest in everyday concerns - they are always a little like an “absent-minded professor” whose home and workplace are chaotic and who only concerns himself with banalities such as bodily needs when it becomes absolutely unavoidable. The acknowledgement of their work by others does not play a great role for them; in general, they are quite independent of social relationships and very self-reliant. Analytical Thinkers therefore often give others the impression that they are arrogant or snobby - especially because they do not hesitate to speak their mind with their often harsh (even if justified) criticism and their imperturbable self-confidence. Incompetent contemporaries do not have it easy with them. But whoever succeeds in winning their respect and interest has a witty and very intelligent person to talk to. A partner who amazes one with his excellent powers of observation and his very dry humour.

It takes some time before Analytical Thinkers make friends, but then they are mostly friends for life. They only need very few people around them. Their most important ability is to be a match for them and thus give them inspiration. Constant social obligations quickly get on their nerves; they need a lot of time alone and often withdraw from others. Their partner must respect this and understand that this is not due to the lack of affection. Once they have decided in favour of a person, Analytical Thinkers are loyal and reliable partners. However, one cannot expect romance and effusive expressions of feelings from them and they will definitely forget their wedding anniversary. But they are always up to a night spent with stimulating discussions and a good glass of wine!

Adjectives which describe your type: introverted, theoretical, logical, spontaneous, rational, analytical, intellectual, sceptical, pensive, critical, quiet, precise, independent, creative, inventive, abstract, eccentric, curious, reserved, self-involved, imaginative, unsociable, determined, modest, careful, incommunicative, witty
Gotta say, i agree.

Well my test result says I will never find my true love and be happy with her (more or less), not quite something I would feel proud of. Then again, this is one point where I wholeheartedly disagree with the result :D
