Anyone doesn't know the memebr for Calare, he's the independent who got them to change the politician's super scheme for something a little less of a rort (not retrospectively, but he made a start).

I offered him (what I considered) a gem not so long ago, WRT petrol pricing.

A few years ago, the dollar was at 45cUS(and falling), and a barrel of crude was $37US (and rising). Petrol was $1.01/$1.02.

Costello was expaining the situation, and market forces, etc etc.

Every cent the dollar dropped would add 1c/litre.
Every dollar oil rose per barrel would add 1c/litre.

That's what he told us.

So, we get to where we are here, 70cU.S, and $50 per barrel.

Under Costello's logic, that would mean $1.02 - 25 +13, or 90c/litre.

It was better when I wrote Andren, as oil was still around $40/bbl.

His response "I'll wait until labor investigate oil prices, and see whether this is still appropriate".

A buck and 4 cents. Diesel is $1.14.

It all should be 90c if Costello was telling the truth.

I was in Adelaide for work the other day....I think I'll move back there some day. Petrol was cheaper, Gas was cheaper, Coopers Sparkling Ale was cheaper.

And the place was green as anything.

It's OK Shannow, you're a top bloke so I'll let it slide.

*sniff* that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said online.

Here, have a Coopers. I'll even wipe the mouth of the bottle with my sleeve. (albeit a little slimy from my tears and nasal secretions)

Inflation doesn't matter when you are talking relative terms.

The price per barrel in U.S. bucks.
The Oz dollar versus U.S. buck.

ahhhhh, so a tax on a levy makes it all Oh so right.

(edit, and the GST was "In" at the time of the statement)
