Petrol Prices - the reason that Andren lost my vote this time.

There are three different taxes levied on petrol in NSW. One is the GST, one is the State Fuel Levy and a third one is also some kind of sales tax, or road tax, or Premier's retirement fund tax or something.

We've still got the Federal Bicentenial Levy of 2c per litre that was going to be removed in 1988, also.

Ah, but you've got to remember that levies aren't taxes! You can't tax a tax, but you can tax a levy. That's the main difference I think.
