Phase shift!!!!

Well, when you need to switch the phase you know...
Like, you have a top and a bottom mic for a snare, then you need to
invert the phase of the bottom mic (because when the top skin moves away
from the top mic the bottom one moves towards the bottom mic)
I guess most preamps have a phase switch as well, but if you preamp doesn't,
that's what the switch in cubase is good for :D

Can be handy when dual micing cabs as well, by inverting one mic's phase, you
hear exactly that stuff that's canceled away when they're in phase...

you should probably try to find that kind of stuff on internet resources or in the very own readme's of the DAWs, this is a great place to answer doubts but I don't think it's for answering what every button in a DAW works for, really. Not being an asshole, I can see your new here, just pointing it out.

For starters, you use it on a track in case you have phase cancellation or phase issues with another track. Try to google it if you don't get what I mean

Edit:Yhanthlei beat me, and with a pretty good explanation. what the hell

Keep on switching the phase button on and off to see what you get. The one with the most low-end is the way to go.

But seriously man, you could have just googled.
