Phil Anselmo/Down...too much money?

wondering on your opinion of an argument i was haveing earlier today with someone, so any way this fuck reckons that Phil Anselmo purely has side projects like down and SJR because he is a money grub, well what do you reckon?? and then if you think 'well umm yea' then does that also make blokes like Mike Patton and Devin Townsend also money hungry, or are they all doing it for the love of all things music.

Well he just left Necrophagia, so I'm assuming it's to dedicate more time to his other bands. I'm not sure he'll do Viking Crown again. I think he'll just stick to three bands now.

He's in it for the music. He won't make any money from those other bands.

If he was money hungry, he would be concentrating more on Pantera, and not considering leaving the band.

Winmar's right. Pantera pays for the other bands, so the rest are just hobbies really. I think Phil's a dick, personally, but he seriously loves making music. If he was just about money he'd just be sitting back somewhere watching it roll in, not go out and do other bands that cost a fortune to record and tour.
