I was going to wait till the disc was completed to post something about this but I'm just too excited. :)

We started tracking for the new album (first full-length FS disc) over the weekend. Thus far we've completed all of the drums and a bit of bass. The tones are absolutely massive - the tom sound is heavier and cleaner than on the EP and the drums just sound huge. Think Queensryche - Empire or Fozzy for drum sound.

SAMPLE FROM THE UPCOMING ALBUM: "Through the Mirror"

Here's the artwork for the new album. We're going with the title "Through the Mirror"

I'll keep you all posted on further updates. This disc will be well worth waiting for! :headbang:

Good news! Since the EP already had a big sound, I wonder what that producer of yours is cooking up.
As for the tentative cover art: stick with it! It has atmosphere, a bit like Travis Smith going B/W. Bandlogo upper left corner, title bottom right and you've got yourself a winner. Whose work is it, by the way?
Looking forward to the music, Brandon!

Looking forward to hearing the new stuff too !!
Very nice "dark" artwork btw !
As for a title it could go anyway...
"Walking on Water", "The CrowMaster", "Blackbirds", ....

Astounding! Hope the work keeps at the same rate/level of success.

Keep us posted on the developments :headbang:

As for the artwork, what can I say really dark and gloomy: "Upon the Marsh of Desolation"

Very good news! :) I like the cover art too. How about...."Prevailing Light"?

Cool! Looking forward to it. A title? A Murder of Crows has already been used by Dead Soul Tribe. If the cloaked figure was the Reaper you could call it Reap and Murder. I really like the picture and think it would look great as a cover.

Thanks for the kind words! As to "what I'm cooking up" it's always been about pushing myself to do better than the last project. That means learning new methods & techniques... constant study & constant refinement. Sitting around doing nothing is not an option. Recording isn't a job, it's a religion. :heh:

That being said, we're 5 days in on this project & it's going very well. Drums are done, bass is almost done & we'll be starting guitars tonight. Things are sounding very, very large. We've been using Phoenix as a reference point & all areas have been improved upon.

Here's a shot of the new drummer, Justin "Humper" Humphrey in between takes:

Look at TSO show off his graphic design skills. I like it man, I'd like the logo in red to grab your attention.

Agree the logo must be highlighted over the rest of the artwork (if the logo is going to be in it).

Another propoasl: "Waterglider", "Dark Waterglider", "Tales Of The Dark Forest" (yeah, swords, and dragons, and elves and Luca Turilli  )

Bass finished up last night (good job, Josh!) and we started guitars. I was going to call it off early, due to exhaustion, but then we got monkeying around with guitar sounds & it was just too much fun....
