Francis Scott Key composed the American National Anthem when America was invaded by the British, which was a long ass time ago. It was a battle at Fort McHenry that the union was holding, and when morning came and the union happened to hold off the attack, so Francis Scott Key wrote about it. This was after the Capitol city was already burned.
