So just today I heard about the existence of "pirate metal." My initial thoughts were,"What?"

Basically where I am going with this thread is this:
-What are some good examples of pirate metal?
-What even defines pirate metal?

I don't think it's a genre. From what I know it's just a term given to bands that use pirate themes in their lyrics,

Basically:
Swashbuckle - Death metal. Sings about pirates.
Running Wild - Sings about pirates. Classic heavy metal stuff. Speed metal.
Alestorm - Pirate inspired power metal. VERY pirate lyrics. Probably the most piratey ones out there
