one quick question
i'm going to play in a band that wants to reveal the good old day with 80's rock an stuff
does anybody can tell me some typical riff stiles an rythms for that kind of rock
like in falmes (as a exampel from melodiy death metal) often uses fast pivot-riffs and harmonized major and minor scales?

Just grab some Queensryche, Skid Row and Van Halen tabs and practice those.

I will recommend some NWOBHM bands (1980-1983) like: Iron Maiden, Saxon, Angelwitch, Blitzkrieg, Satan, etc.

Also bands like Culprit (USA), Hawaii (USA), Omen (USA), Sword (CAN), Warlock (GER), Manilla Road (USA), Leatherwolf (USA), Sortilege (FR), Blaspheme (FR), H-Bomb (FR), Baron Rojo (ESP), Heavy Load (SWE) have the vibe of true metal 80's scene (and of course you can try with Metallica, Metal Church debut albums for a bit of change in pace).
