Please help HEAVY Acacia-ish stuff

im getting closer to having to present this back to the band and i cant get it sitting where i want it. i know i need work on the overheads, any other pointers would be greatly appreciated.

The bass and guitars sound really weird. Sounds like the bass is louder than the guitars and is waaaaaayyyyy over-processed. Kick could be louder and more pounding. Snare could use more body (try the 200 a couple db up). What i´m really missing is the overall clarity, especially those guitars and bass.
Otherwise pretty nice!

thanks guys ill keep working on what you mentioned. thats so weird about the snare, i locked it to the grid, maybe i went a little overboard with the transient enveloper or something?

What´s your chain on the snare? Sounds like you didn´t compress it. I´d suggest you give the Kramer PIE Compressor (Waves) a try. Works real nice, and it´s one of my favourites. Generally, any compressor will do. So try to get some dynamics going on the snare and that will take off the edge of it sounding too "sampled".

To turn this into an acacia strain album I'd use a snare sample, probably 100% replaced.
But yeah drums need more attack and less sutain in general.

What's the guitar chain btw? They do sound squishy kinda

Jesus they are literally trying to sound exactly like TAS. Can't comment on the mix though seeing as how I'm on work speakers

messed with the snares envelope and did a little side chaining to duck the bass on the kick so the thump might come thru better
