hello, i had a friend who died in a car accident recently. i am doing a eulogy for him and he was really into death metal. his favorite bands were Nile, Exhumed, and Mortician. I was wondering if there were any apropriate death metal song lyrics that i could incorparate into his eulogy. im not too familiuar with death metal myself and i know the lyrics are pretty gory but does anyone know, is there anything i could use in his eulogy cuz i know he would love it if i did? thanks, sugar

Depends, And i doubt you'll be able to incorporate some lyrics into his eulogy because most of it is pretty gorry, but what do I know I don't listen to much death metal

Edit: Actually now that I think of it...Arch Enemy has some pretty useful lyrics in Nemesis, but I'll leave that for you to decide:

We walk this Earth
With fire in our hands
Eye for an eye
We are Nemesis

We are with you
Countless vicious souls
Fight! - Fighting for freedom
United we stand

We are legion
Voice of anarchy
This is revolution
Creating new disorder

We are enemy
Opponent of the system
Crushing hypocrisy
Slaying the philistine

One for all - All for one
We are strong - We are one
Nemesis

A malicious fever burns
In our hearts, In our veins
Your blood, My blood
All blood runs the same

And im sorry for your loss :(

That's not true...Death Metal lyrics can be about anything. Just look at Hypocrisy or Death.

edit: I think you may be able to find appropriate lyrics with the US band Death..look them up.
And I'm very sorry for what happened as well... cars are so dangerous.

A very loved local metal fan died in a car accident over the summer, also putting two of my good friends of into comas. One needed severe face surgery. The driver broke both legs. I know what you are going through, man. I guarantee you could find some lyrics that could suit the occasion. Even if it was death metal he was into, Im sure you could branch out a bit to some other form of metal music and find some lyrics. But I bet you could find some DM lyrics. possibly a metal musician quote, even? anyway, good luck.

well since he was into death metal...he was probebly into other metal as well so maybe megadeth's "A Tout Le Monde" is very appropriate

Don't remember where I was
I realized life was a game
The more seriously I took things
The harder the rules became
I had no idea what it'd cost
My life passed before my eyes
I found out how little I accomplished
All my plans denied

So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile when you think of me
My body's gone that's all

A tout le monde (To all the world)
A tous mes amis (To all my friends)
Je vous aime (I love you)
Je dois partir (I have to leave)
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

If my heart was still alive
I know it would surely break
And my memories left with you
There's nothing more to say

Moving on is a simple thing
What it leaves behind is hard
You know the sleeping feel no more pain
And the living are scarred

A tout le monde (To all the world)
A tous mes amis (To all my friends)
Je vous aime (I love you)
Je dois partir (I have to leave)
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please, smile, smile when you think about me
My body's gone that's all

A tout le monde (To all the world)
A tous mes amis (To all my friends)
Je vous aime (I love you)
Je dois partir (I have to leave)
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

A tout le monde (To all the world)
A tous mes amis (To all my friends)
Je vous aime (I love you)
Je dois partir (I have to leave)

i always told everyone that this is the song that i want played at my funeral

That song can make any metal head emotional lol

Sorry to hear that. Here is a song by Nile about the dead, I hope this helps.

Nile- The Blessed Dead

Looked Down Upong With Scorn
We Work the Fields of the Masters
And Share Not the Bounty of the Black Earth

Destitute Servile Cast Out
Affording No Tomb
We Shall Be Buried
Unprepared in the Sand

We Shall Never Be The Blessed Dead

Scorned By Asar
Condemned at the Weighing of the Heart
We are Exiled from the Netherworld
Serpents fall Upon us Dragging us Away
Ammitt Who Teareth the Wicked to Pieces

Pale Shades of the UnBlessed Dead
None Shall Enter Without the Knowledge
Of the Magickal Formulas
Which is Given to Few to Possess

Not for Us to Sekhet Aaru
Our Souls Will be Cut to Pieces with Sharp Knives
Tortured Devoured
Consumed in Everlasting Flames

We Shall Never Be The Blessed Dead

In the dark... in death
Eyes can't see... I cannot feel
No voices... no light... no existence
A dreamlike void surrounds me

silence... emptiness... peace of mind... in death

In emptiness...
I focus my thoughts on my life
In death I have the time to think of the past

Solitude...
won't break my peace of mind
Because here I must dwell eternally

In memoriam...
For the one that once was me
Entombed remains
A gravestone marks I've passed away...
(Sacred... to the memory of myself)

thank you all so much for your help. i have a lot of good ideas now. i know its a weird thing to have death metal lyrics in a eulogy but i know he would appriciate it, as i think any metal head would.

I'd definently suggest 90s Death. Chuck wrote some pretty meaningful lyrics during that time.

Destiny
Time is a thing we must accept
The unexpected I sometimes fear.
Just when I feel there's no excuse for what happens,
Things fall into place
I know there is no way to avoid the pain that we must go through
to find the other half that is true
Destiny is what we all seek
Destiny was waiting for you and me

I believe behind confusion awaits the truth for us
Past the obstacles we face
I value our life and trust
Years of questioning why things happen the way they do in life
Wishing that I could turn back time,
So we could join our souls
I know there is no way to avoid the pain that we must go through
to find the other half that is true
Destiny is what we all seek
Destiny was waiting for you and me
-Death 1993

Death- Sacred Serenity

Wherever we go, whatever we do
Your shadow is not far behind our steps
And our breath
Protecting and watching all...
Observing spirits on the wall
What are they telling you?

Following all instincts that are pure
Oblivious to time that may be the cure

[Chorus:]
Sacred is the gift that they
have without knowing
Serenity is knowing it's safe
from destruction of time

[Solo: Schuldiner]

Maybe we could take a step back
And discover what leads us to attack
Time that is short - distance unknown
For them, each day life has just begun
Observing spirits on the wall
What are they telling you?

Following all instincts that are pure
Oblivious to time that may be the cure

[Repeat chorus]
