Try Metallica riffs and stuff, that's how I started and how a lot of people start.

Start with some Sabbath riffs. The first song I learned was NIB.

Seriously, there are like 5 chords in it and no solos.

Metallica in general is good and challenging at that stage...

I vote that you NEVER PLAY A METALLICA SONG EVER. Metallica only fucks you up for life. Learn some classical guitar, or some acoustic fingerstyle. Maybe some old Beatles tunes. Work your way up to James Taylor.

I think its always better to start on an acoustic, learn the basics, THEN switch to Electric. Build some chops and finger strength.

Actually, guitarists are a dime a dozen. Learn bass.

I'd say that acoustic first is the best way to go too... it's a bit tougher and requires more precision.. get some chops and then electrify it.. it'll be way cooler too

The first shit i learned were some shitty nirvana songs. then i moved to metallica and so forth.
