im realy not happy with my tone atm, i dont know if its because i dont use any post pod farm plugins or processing on my guitars apart from an eq but my guitars sound realy scratchy and unhealthy, does any1 know how i could get more life and warmth into the tone?
i have been informed by a producer that he uses about 6 plugins post pod farm and i dont know what any of these are. can anyone tell me what i am missing to get a nice warm unscratchy tone?

here is my pod farm tone walkthrough so that you can see my settings

and idealy i would like my tone to end up sounding warmer like this... (the mix is unmastered and unmixed but the guitars sound sick)
its a song my band recorded with another producer

Wow, that Ambidjent20Final.mp3 sounds massive. What is the bass setup like, and how did you get that heavy bass shimmering effect like in the beginning after the first heavy guitar part?

If you want to improve your tone, then I'd recommend ditching Pod Farm and trying something like the LePou amp sims.

heres a newer version of the mix with a video, i stuck the american classic pre amp from pod farm on the guitar group bus and i think the guitar tone benefited from it

Guits are sounding pretty dark in that second vid, either less low mids or more highs/presence, whichever way you want to balance it. Haven't used pod farm in a long while so I can't remember all the tricks but as stated, you might perhaps want to try some other amp sims.

oh and i ran everything through the american classic pre amp on that last video, maybe thats whats making it sound dark?

kk thanks guys.. im having slightly better results now using IR's
should i be using a saturater on my guitar bus? if so what ones do you guys recommend.. preferably free please

heres a quick link to something i made using the IR
its not mixed properly yet so ignore everything else +thers no bass guitar as i dont have 1 to hand

sounds pretty on point to me. some might say your tone is still dark, but personally i prefer a darker guitar tone. and if you're going to use a saturator, I'd bypass the compressor you're using in podfarm. for saturation I like to use SPL TwinTube, it definitely will fill out your tone and add some extra grit. but I haven't heard of any free ones, I'm sure they're out there though. I use pro tools, so "free" isn't exactly in my vocabulary
