I am looking at getting a Pod HD500 pretty much purely for the effects to use with my EVH 5150 50W.

I would want to hook it up 4CM for the flexibility of using Effects before and after the EVH Preamp. I have watched a couple of Youtube Vids and they briefly mention level matching issues between the real preamp levels and Pod preamp levels. Has anybody used the 4CM with the HD500 and moreso, has anybody used it with the EVH 5150 50W?

I have used the 4CM with my old 6505, Krank and old GT-8 and have experienced a bit of "tone sucking" when the GT-8 was in play. I am wondering if the Pod causes the same issue.

Any feedback appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same setup. You just have to adjust the main level on the pod to match the amp level when bypassed and adjust the individual patches from there, no big deal. There is a amount of "tone sucking" when using the 4cm. Midi amp control works great with the pod, you can switch channels and turn the loop bypass on and off per patch.

I use it in the loop only, the 5150 has a hard bypass so when I'm not using effects, its bypassed. Also not near as much tone sucking when its just in the loop and not bypassed. I don't use a TS with this amp, like it better without.
