Is there any way to monitorize signal with cabinet simulation and record without it?

I found a good PodXT preset to use with GuitarHacks impulses.
I turn off Pods's cabinet simulation and record it on Cubase so then with Voxengo I insert the impulse.
The problem is that when I record, I listen to the track without cabinet and it is not a confortable hearing!
My soundcard has some ms of latency so I cannot activate the processed monitoring.

As far as I know this is not possible. What you can do is one of the following:

-record a DI and use the pod to reamp (can if necessary both be done through the via USB). While recording the DI you can still engage cab simulation on the POD
-disable cab simulation and one out into a combo, power amp + speaker, outboard cab simulator, eq that you set up for monitoring and connect the other out to your soundcard

Get a better soundcard. I can do this no problem using Focusrite Saffire Pro 26i/o or MOTU 8Pre as my interface running ReValver's RIR module for impulses, monitoring the MKIII ampsim and using Recabinet and other impulses at the same time, yet only recording the DI. I can also use a POD into one of my interfaces and monitor with cabsim on from MKIII but only record the PODxt preamp signal.

Yeah, Line 6 drivers are horrible for low-latency monitoring with ampsims - at least the drivers for the Podxt I used to have and Toneport UX1 my roommate used to have were! :goggly:

I have to agree on that one, I've got the buffer size on my Toneport set as low as it will go, hardly using any cpu and still running it through Gate > TSS > Wagner MKII > Boogex is producing quite a bit of latency for monitoring.

Hmm, well I found I could get it low enough to be just barely tolerable, but it was pop/click-city on both of our computers :Smug:

Aye, I used to get that when I was running on a 1.72Ghz PC back in the day.

Not had that since I upped to Dual core with 2 g's of Ram though, the latency is usable as you say - I just find it annoying, I have no idea how your pc would get that popping though - from what I can see it's faster than mine.

Oh yeah, this was awhile ago on my old comp :D Still, I could use my Onyx Satellite on it with low latency with no problem, so the issue was definitely with Line 6

Oooh, I must be retarded.:zombie::zombie:
I made some changes in the Asio of my soundcard (It's an old Terratec DMXFire24/96) and set up 64sample/buffer, and now I've got a 1,5 millisec of latency!!
Never changed that value cause never needed. Now, me and my powerful soundcard we're gonna conquest the universe!!
